Namorados is Indigo Talent’s favourite recommendation for clients who desire music from the 60s and 70s to the 80s and 90s, ranging from pop and easy listening to disco and rock, and from jazz to western and country.
The group consists of Portuguese brothers on guitars and a friend on the double bass, with all three on vocals taking turns with melody and harmony. One of the vocalists also alternates between lead guitar and fiddle. Other instruments may also be added to expand this band to a 4- or 5-member ensemble. An add-on female vocalist extends the repertoire range to cover songs by female singers.
The musicians from Namorados came into the music scene in the late 1970s in Malacca and became the first strolling outfit in Malaysia. As a strolling group, they were frequent performers in pubs, hotels and cruise ships. In the mid-1990s, the group released an English album under the BMG label. Three of the songs from the album were top of the charts on Radio 4, and one of the songs remained on the No.1 spot for over six consecutive weeks.
We have always received excellent reviews, praise and comments about the group for their capabilities in reproducing accurate renditions of oldies made famous by illustrious singers of the past such as Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong. Their repertoire also covers songs by Frank Sinatra, Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, Kenny Rogers, Barry Manilow, Engelbert Humperdinck, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Eagles and many others.
Namorados truly embodies the definition of professional music-making.
